Went to The Kooks concert at Lupo's in Providence on Sunday night.

It was GREAT.  The lead singer is really entertaining with his huge marionette-like dance moves.  The new drummer came out with side-parted hair, tie and tweed jacket–what a guy.  AND it was only $10!  Awesome!

This is one of my favorite songs from them:

It was really nice way to end the really hectic conference weekend.  We drove up to Cape Cod on Thursday and then the conference CONSUMED MY LIFE from 6:30am to 10:30 every day until Sunday.  What's the point of going to Cape Cod if you're just going to be stuck in a conference room in a hotel for 4 days straight?  Even the weather was in on it because it was cold and rainy the entire time.

But it was nice to see the boyfriend so that he can remember me from time to time and we also met up with an acquaintance from college who just moved to Providence a month ago.  The three of us had sushi for dinner, skipped the first opening act and got there in time for a band called Illinois (who are actually from Pennsylvania?). After a few songs featuring the banjo…it was time for The Kooks!  They are so cute and catchy.

First rock concert!  Even though we have been dating for 2 years…odd.
